notes

I remember one time about 15 years ago I climbed Mt. Peel with my dog Lokey, he was a good mountain climber. No, it wasn't Mt. peel, it was East Tukanikavacs, and I prayed a long prayer that I memorized from a Baha'i prayer book. I prayed on the top of that mountain, I prayed most sincerely and after that prayer something very strange came over me, it was as though everybody in the town below, in the entire valley below, heard my prayer, it was rather like everyone everywhere heard that prayer, I know, it's hard to explain but believe me something more than Lokey, something very, very big heard that prayer. And that night some strange things happend I can't really put them into words but I can say this, a damp cool breeze came down from the top of that mountain and rolled around my trailer house and filled my backyard with a strong scent that I have never smelled anywhere on Earth except on the top of that mountain, it is one of the two most beautiful scents that I have ever smelled, the first one being a mysterious scent which emanates from a kind of damp earth which I have found only in three places, the Himalayan foothills, northern Wisconsin, northern Minnesota, and one place in Montana, all were either damp or marshy places. The second scent being the one I mentioned which emanates from talus shale found in the LaSalle mountain's, when the shale is disturbed slightly it admits this pungent fragrance which comes either from the rock itself or the lichens growing on the rock, I'm not sure which.
Sometimes I feel like that, like God is really hearing my prayers, I can actually sense it.
